In order for me to ever pay back the money that I owe, I
have got to come up with some way to make a ton of money -
almost two million dollars ($2,000,000), in fact. That is most
definitely a chunk of money. There is no denying it, and I have
only about thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) that I have towards
paying it off. Of course, some of that two million dollars is in
real estate that will bring some amount of money. Of the four
properties, I might get eight hundred thousand dollars
($800,000). That still leaves over a million dollar gap. How am
I ever going to come up with that much money? This is where I
have to start thinking outside of the box. Read on. See what I
have come up with. Let me know what you think.
My job provides me with
steady income, but nowhere near enough to pay off this debt.
Let's consider the income from my job merely living expense
income. Thus, I am forced to come up with other revenue options.
Here is my quick list:
• ShortOnChange.com
•
Book Deal
•
Sue the Condo Association
•
Florida Lottery
• Art
•
Other Web Sites
Sure, these are long
shots; but I have got to start somewhere. Let's discuss these a
little bit.
ShortOnChange.com might
eventually start to generate me enough money that I can pay off
my debt. The revenue might come from banner advertising. Google
has been my best source of revenue from this site thanks to the
Google links, but it has been very minimal... far from the
million plus that I need. Also, it might be that someone comes
along one day and offers to buy ShortOnChange.com, the domain
and website, from me. There are tons of such stories. I will go
ahead and say it here: ShortOnChange.com is available for sale,
just make an offer (preferably $2,000,000).
A book deal would have to
be pretty big to meet my cash requirements. I am writing a book
currently about my life here on Perdido Key mixed in with my
foreclosure problems and the bad economy plus a lot of drama to
make it worth reading. True, I am a yet-unpublished author; and
it will be hard for me to garner enough attention to warrant the
high dollar book deals that the best authors get; but it just
might happen. My book is less than half way through, and I will
have more details about it on this website soon enough; but it
might just be my ticket.
A lawsuit against the
condo association (the same condo association that just recently
took me to small claims court for unpaid condo association dues)
might answer all of my problems. Here is my case against the
condo association:
When I bought my three bedroom condo in 2004, it was my
understanding that I was responsible for everything from the
drywall in. Therefore, I bought insurance. When Hurricane Ivan
flooded every unit up to the light switches on the first floor,
the condo association brought in a construction company to fix
all of the houses; but they flagged my house and refused to fix
it saying that I had insurance and had to pay to get mine fixed.
I ended up getting my own contractor to fix my house and paid
for it with my insurance money.
What seems as if they misappropriated funds is that the condo
association took all of the insurance proceeds and fixed
everybody else’s condos (except for a few other condos which had
their own insurance); but they also fixed everything inside
including texturing, painting, fixtures, kitchen cabinets,
flooring, doors, kitchen fixtures, appliances (ovens,
microwaves, refrigerators, washers, dryers, hot water heaters,
a/c units), bathroom vanities, toilets, tubs, wallpaper, carpet,
blinds, etc. A special assessment was later levied against
everybody, including the condo owner’s that had been flagged and
not fixed by the condo association’s contractor.
I have
this case with my lawyer currently, but I have not heard back
from him yet as to whether or not he thinks it is a valid case.
Of course, if that lady years ago can win a suit against
McDonald's for her spilling her hot coffee on herself in her
car, why can't I win this case?
The Florida Lottery,
tonight, is three million dollars ($3,000,000). After taxes, I
would still have enough to pay off all of my debt. Sure, the
odds are - I think some people have said - astronomical;
but there is still that little bit of hope; and the tickets are
only one dollar apiece. I do not have a ticket for tonight's
drawing (I am sure I would have won tonight), but I will stop by
and get some ticket's for Wednesday's drawing and every one
after that. I have to at least try.
Art is a long shot as I
have extremely limited ability and even less recognition. I only
started last year doing acrylic on canvas paintings. I have a
long way to go. I have not sold any of them yet, but I have been
to one art show so far; and I have a few pieces up on the walls
of a bar in downtown Pensacola (Blues Cafe). Perhaps after I'm
dead... after all, nearly all artists have to wait until after
they are dead to make money... of course, that is a really
depressing thought. I think I will stick to trying to make the
money while I am still alive.

I do have other websites
on the Internet that might eventually make me money, but
ShortOnChange.com is my most likely bet.
Got any ideas? I would be
glad to hear them. Plus, let me know if you have ideas for
improving ShortOnChange.com or if you would like to buy it for
about two million dollars.
