On the Golf Course

Only $200,000

Over six (6) months have passed, and I have had no contracts on my house on the golf course. It is a beautiful property; and if I do not sell it fast, it will go back to the bank in foreclosure. The price, which was originally for a little over eight hundred thousand dollars ($800,000), has been lowered to about five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) - no contracts. I have had people look at it, but no contracts.

Desperate times bring desperate measures: I am thinking about putting my house up for bid starting at two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000)! Surely, that should get some attention. The bid will be subject to bank approval so it might not be accepted for that much by the bank, but at least it will get the process in motion. A buyer will give me a contract on the house for $200,000. I will take that offer to the bank. The bank will either accept the offer or reject the offer. If the bank rejects the offer, the next highest bid will be presented to the bank (unless the bank counteroffers in which case the first bidders have the option of accepting or rejecting the new offer). If the bank accepts the offer, the buyers have a four thousand plus square foot beautiful home on the golf course (12th Green) for a fraction of the original cost! Even though it is obvious, I still have to say it... "What a sweet deal!"

This is a great property and deal for anyone interested in relocating to a beautiful golf course setting on an island on Florida's gorgeous Gulf Coast. Only two bridges connect Perdido Key to the mainland - the west bridge to Orange Beach in Alabama and the north bridge to Pensacola. Of course, it might just be a second home for someone who wants to vacation near the beaches and golf courses (tennis courts and boating, too). For $200,000, it might be a great source of rental revenue as well.

If you are interested, post your comments on the comments page or email me (Noah@ShortOnChange.com). I will update this post when I work out the details and actually put this offer on the market.
